Saxagliptin (Onglyza) is an anti-diabetic drug of the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor class. DPP-4 is an enzyme that breaks down incretin hormones. Increasing the level of these hormones in the body rise insulin production in response to meals and decreasing the rate of gluconeogenesis in the liver.
DNA samples from participants to Saxagliptin trial were genotyped on the Illumina MEGAv2 bead chip at the Beaulieu-Saucier Pharmacogenomics Centre. Samples from Saxagliptin and Dapagliflozin where genotypes at the same time. Here we present GWAS results obtained with GMMAT and genetest. We also present interaction results produced by GMMAT and genetest.
